My large-scale portrait paintings are inspired by the faces of movie stars and celebrities. As a graphic designer by trade, my style has a distinctly graphic quality. After a successful career in graphic design, I now focus entirely on portrait painting. I am particularly fascinated by faces, especially the eyes, so I always begin each painting with the eyes and build out from there. The eyes are crucial, as I believe the painting must feel like it's looking back at me. While I do have a few paintings featuring sunglasses, most of my work depicts subjects without them.

I work in acrylics on canvas, enjoying the medium's fast drying time. Each painting is approached as a design project, where I carefully compose and select colours before I start. My canvases are large and filled with vibrant hues that reflect my love for bold colours. The art lies in deciding which details to include or exclude to capture the essence of my subject.

My portraits often feature a black, white, and grey palette with a single colourful background. Recently, I've been experimenting with incorporating more colour into the portraits themselves while still maintaining a black and white base.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of James Bond, I created a series of portraits depicting the various actors who have played the iconic role.
